About kate

I’m Kate, a Brisbane photographer and the person behind Quince & Mulberry.

My work explores movement, connection and the quiet moments that often pass unnoticed. I work across dance, portrait and brand photography, using natural light and the surrounding environment to create images that feel thoughtful and true to the people within them.

What inspires me most are the people who invite me into their world. Whether it’s the energy of a rehearsal studio, the launch of a new creative project or a simple moment shared between people who care for one another, I feel incredibly grateful to witness and document these stories.

What’s behind the name?

Established in 2011

Quince & Mulberry is named after two small but meaningful inspirations in my life; Quince, my beloved Labrador, and the mulberry tree from my childhood backyard.

Quince came into my life as a tiny puppy when I was living in the Yarra Valley in Victoria. She grew into the most loyal companion and taught me so much about patience, joy and noticing the simple pleasures in everyday life.

The mulberry tree reminds me of childhood summers spent climbing branches with my brother, collecting berries until our hands were stained purple and our pockets were full.

Together they represent something I’ve always believed,  that there is beauty everywhere if you take the time to notice it.
